Robert Bise

Robert H. Bise ABINGDON, Va. Robert H. Bise, age 62, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in Abingdon Manor. Born May 11, 1947, in Russell County, a son of the late Harim and Rassie Chafin Bise, he was an employee of P. & J. Contracting in Lebanon. Robert was of the Freewill Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Bise; and two brothers, Frank and Buster Bise. Survivors include four sisters, Mary E. Hess, Abingdon, Virginia Hess and husband Paul, Lebanon, Attie Hicks and husband Earnest Hicks, Castlewood and Lois Gross, Marion, Va.; four brothers, Lowell "Jackie" Bise and wife Brenda, Honaker, David Albert Bise and wife Lois, Rowe, Jimmie Bise and wife Sylvia, Roanoke, Va., and William Chafin and wife Janet, Omaha, Neb.; two special nieces, Norma Miller and Nancy Honaker, both of Abingdon; one special nephew, Jimmie L. Fields, Abingdon; also several other nieces and nephews; a host of friends; special friends, Shawn Eggers and Aaron Michael Sailor. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Paul Price, Rev. David Lowe, and the Rev. David Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Chafin Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Michael Sailor, Delmer Lynn Vencill, Gregg Johnson, Jimmie L. Fields, Paul Hess Jr., and Carter Chafin. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of P. & J. Contracting, Dr. Mark Davis, employees of Abingdon Manor and Bobby Thomas. The family received friends after 6 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010, with a song service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
