Robert E. "Bob" Lethcoe

Robert E. "Bob" Lethcoe DAMASCUS, Va. Robert E. "Bob" Lethcoe, age 64, passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at his residence. He was a life long resident of Damascus, Va., and was the son of the late Paul and Louise Lethcoe. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam Era and was a retired automobile mechanic from Interstate Chevron. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lynn Lethcoe; two children, Robbie Lethcoe and Dana Lethcoe, all of Damascus, Va.; and also a special little girl that calls him papaw, Makayla Phipps. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Rev. Charles "Bud" Lethcoe officiating. The committal service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Sunset Memorial Park in Damascus, Va. with military graveside rites conducted by the Highlands Fellowship Veterans Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Milhorne, Phillip Gentry, Michael Milhorne, Kermit Turner, Michael Phipps, Maurice Orr and Chris Proffitt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Johnston Memorial Cancer Center, 26079 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Johnston Memorial Cancer Center, Dr. Tisdale and Dr. Davis and their staff, Hospice of Southwest Virginia, and all the friends and family who have helped Bob during his time of illness. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
