Robert Oliver Barr

Robert Oliver Barr BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Robert Oliver Barr, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. He was a son of the late Mervil and Virginia Oliver Barr. Robert was a member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during World War II. He had retired from Meade Paper Company in 1988 after 35 years of service and had also operated Barr's Greenhouses for 25 years. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanine Crowe Barr; children, David Barr, Carol Henson and husband Davy Joe, and Edward Barr and wife Jackie; brother, Ralph Lyle Barr and wife Lois; granddaughter, Jamie Barr and partner Allen Moultrie; grandson, Harley Barr; and great-grandchildren, Janae Moultrie and Jada Moultrie. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 p.m. Monday evening, Jan. 3, 2011, at Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 O'clock with Rev. Tom Reed officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 O'clock Tuesday morning, Jan. 4, 2011, at Edgefield Cemetery, Piney Flats, Tenn. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Crowe, R.E. Milhorn, Howard Tester, Ivan Milhorn, and Ronnie Torbett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Elizabeth Chapel Building Fund, 1041 Elizabeth Chapel Road, Bluff City, TN 37618.
