Robert W. Smith HENDERSON, Nev. Robert W. Smith, 95, passed away Sept. 11, 2010, in Nevada. He was born April 13, 1915, in Maryland and was a son of the late Rufus and Annie Thrift Smith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Banie Ophelia Smith. He is survived by grandson, Harvey Smith Jr. of Las Vegas; nieces, Gail Huff and Pat Roundtree; nephew, Phillip Tate; and a cousin, Rev. Beauford Smith. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Beauford Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon. Friends and family are invited to gather at Farris Funeral Service beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.
