Ruby A. Wise Tignor

Ruby A. Wise Tignor ABINGDON, Va. Ruby A. Wise Tignor, age 82, a well-known resident of the Brumley Gap community, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at her home. She was born June 18, 1928, in Washington County, Va., a daughter of the late Campbell Wise and Lula Bell Gobble Wise. Mrs. Tignor was a lifelong resident of the area and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Tignor, and one infant child. She is survived by four daughters, Margaret "Maggie" Salyer and husband, Sam, of Abingdon, Beulah "Jane" Murray and husband, John, of Bluff City, Tenn., Marie Wagner and husband, Walter, of Abingdon, and Dianna Proulex of Abingdon; two sons, Oscar "June" Tignor Jr. and wife, Faye, of Abingdon, and Donald Gene Tignor and wife, Vickie, of Bristol Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; six sisters, Retha Scott, Irene Scott, Shirley Dale, Doris Testerman, Peggy Pickle and Linda Sue Nichols; five brothers, J.C. Wise, Mike Wise, Bobby Wise, Richard Wise and James Russell Wise; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at Frost Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon with the Rev. Paul Price officiating.
