Ruby Irene Jones MARION, Va. Ruby Irene Jones, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at her home.. She was born in Seven Mile Ford to the late William Victor and Emma Elizabeth Carrico Gross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jones; three brothers, Joseph Vance Gross, Mack Moore Gross and Stephen Boyd Gross; and two sisters, Virginia Ruth Evans and Flora Kay Robinson. She had retired from the Francis Marion Manor and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by: one son, Ronny Jones and wife Mary Alice, Marion; one daughter, Stella Adams, Marion; one sister, Stella Margaret Havens Johnson, Rural Retreat, Va.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Gross, Sylvia Gross Gilley; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Southwest Virginia for the loving care given to Mrs. Jones. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Dr. John Diorio and Rev. Monroe Landers officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker's Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
