Shirley Ann Sutherland BLUFF CITY, Tenn. Shirley Ann Sutherland passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at the Bristol Wellmont Hospice House. She was the daughter of the late Floyd Crider Sr. and Geraldine Pullon Crider. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bobbie Jean Lake. Shirley was a Christian and lifelong resident of the Bristol area. She was a graduate of Virginia High School and worked for Sperry/Unisys for 17 years. She was an avid reader and collector of books. Shirley was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley is survived by her loving spouse of 35 years, Thomas Sutherland; daughter, Taryn Fox and husband Jeff of Bluff City; son, Craig Herndon and wife Marie of Evans, Ga.; brother, Floyd Crider Jr. of New York City; niece, Cindy Hardee of Kingsport, Tenn.; nephew, Dr. Ed Clevenger of Kingsport; granddaughters, Emily and Caty Herndon; grandsons, Roderick Herndon, Todd and Luke Fox. The family will receive friends Friday evening, Oct. 1, 2010, from 5 until 7 o'clock at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date with Dr. Ed Clevenger of Grace Covenant Church, Kingsport, officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Holston Valley Hospital W3, Bristol Wellmont Hospice House; and special caregiver, Ami V. Isada. A special thanks to Thomas' sister, Shirley Clevenger and her husband Jack for their care and support. The family is appreciative of the prayers and support given from so many over the last several months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Bristol Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620.
