Shirley Poston Obituary

Shirley Jane Poston MARION, Va. Shirley Jane Poston, age 63, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010, at her home. She was born in Marion, to the late William and Pearl Ward Norwood. Mrs. Poston was a member of the Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Johnny Poston Sr., Marion; two sons, Richard Fields, Cullman, Ala., Johnny Poston Jr. and wife Stephanie, Marion; two daughters, Tammy Roddey and husband Billy, Lakeland, Fla., Delana Calahan, Marion; one sister, Wilma Calhoun and husband Dave, Atkins; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, June 8, 2010, at 8 p.m. from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Rev. Joe Powers and Rev. Tim Greer officiating. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Walkers Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6-8 p.m. from the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.bradleysfh.com Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the family of Mrs. Poston.

I was so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing I worked with her at Ridgefield Ambulance service. She always had a smile and a kind word and loved to joke around all the while taking her work seriously.
May God be with her family and bring them peace, know that she is in the arms of Jesus now and one day you will meet again.

my thoughts and prayers are with the entire poston family. Ms. poston will sure be missed,but i know she was a christian and a born again child of christ,so we will see her again,when we leave this world,and enter into the kingdom of heaven...may god be with each of you during this time of need and once again my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Shirley was a wonderful person and always had a smile on her face. She will be missed but I know her suffering has come to an end and is in a better place and at peace. I know Rosemary will miss her dearly. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
