Thomas Combs

Thomas David Combs BRISTOL, Tenn. Thomas David Combs, age 65, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 28, 1945, in Bristol Virginia, a son of the late Paul and Georgia Lee Combs, and has lived all of his life in the Bristol area. He was a retired employee of Electrolux and Shown Trucking Company. He was a member of Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Combs was a Vietnam War Air Force veteran and he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald C. Combs. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice "Jan" Combs. Also surviving, stepson, Daniel Mack Hagy; brother, Paul E. Combs Jr. and wife Katherine; special mother-in-law, Estelle Boggs; brother-in-law, Robert Martin; sisters, Patricia Smith, Linda Wise and husband Hugh, Judy Simcox; sister-in-law, Melinda Combs; several nieces and nephews; special little pets, Boris and Ivan. A funeral service for Mr. Combs will be held 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 6 to 7:45 p.m. The burial will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the National Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Bristol VFW Honorguard.
