Viola Nellis Worley Anders went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005.
She was born in Washington County, Va., to the late Franklin and Rosa Worley. She was a native of Washington County, Va., and a former resident of Bristol Tennessee. She was 91 years old, a retired homemaker, hardworking farmer and an ethusiastic flower gardener. She was a member of Community Baptist Church.
Viola, also known to many as "Nell", passed away peacefully in her sleep, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Her husband, Charles Willard Anders, preceded her in death.
Survivors include Grace Musick, daughter; Michael Mosberg II, grandson and wife Brenda; Monica Marshall, granddaughter and husband Bobby; Mickey Mosberg, great-grandson and wife Julie; and Morris Mosberg III, great-grandson; also, step-great-grandchildren, Chadd Smith, Michelle Whitaker and Jennifer Ewart; step-great-great- grandchildren, Corinne Leonard, Sarah Campbell, Chase Ewart and Kyle Ewart. Viola is also survived by her sisters, Mrs. Blender Thomas of Pennsylvania, and Eula Maye Hall; and by many dear nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her former caregivers, Karen Matthews, Stella Sproles and Virginia Duncan. Also, our sincere thanks to the staff of Valley Health Care Nursing Home in Chilhowie.
We cherish our memories of her before her illness. An intelligent, vivacious and tender-hearted lady, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Todd Crusenberry. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the service. The committal service will be held 11 a.m., Friday in Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
