Virginia Cornett Farmer

Virginia Cornett Farmer MARION , Va. Virginia Cornett Farmer, age 91, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at the Valley Health Care Center. Mrs. Farmer was born in Grayson County to the late Floyd A. Cornett and Minnie Bell Cornett, and was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Farmer; a brother, Charles Vernon Cornett; two sisters, Louise Greer and Alice Katherine Funk; and two brothers-in- law, Roy P. Greer and George Funk Jr. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Marion and had retired from the South Western Virginia Mental Health Institute. Survivors include: one brother, Floyd Cornett and wife Jane, Wytheville, Va.; one sister, Claira Nelson, Merritt Island, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at the Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Mike Teague officiating. Interment will follow in Central Cemetery in Grayson County, Va. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
