Virginia Halvorson

Virginia "Ginny" Ruth Halvorson 07/13/1938 - 04/14/2010 Virginia "Ginny" Ruth Halvorson, 71, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2010. Her family is rejoicing that she is in heaven working in the garden with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, and all of her other loved ones that have gone before her. Ginny was born in Blountville, Tenn. Ginny moved to Oregon in 1958. She touched everyone's life she came in contact with. Ginny "Grandma M" was a kindred spirit and had a big heart and a kind word for everyone she met. She proudly worked for Meier and Frank for 33 years and retired in 2001. Her passion was taking pictures of flowers and imprinting beautiful poems on them. She loved sharing her prints with all who knew her. She loved her sisters, children and grandchildren with all her heart. Ginny is survived by her sisters, Margie Cable and Marie Hutchens of Blountville; and two brothers, Clyde and Arthur Price of Bristol Tennessee; daughter, Patti de Carteret, and her 2 sons, Mike and Jeff; and six beloved grandchildren, Nicolas, Alexandra, Matthew, Lara, Chet and Ella. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Canby Evangelical Church, 339 East Township Rd, Canby, OR. After the service a gathering will be held at the church. Arrangements will be made by Canby Funeral Chapel.
