Walter Virgil Wilson SALTVILLE, Va. Walter Virgil Wilson, age 86, passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Vince and Josie Davis Wilson; one brother, Andrew Wilson; three sisters, Jeanie Minton, Ethel Boyd, Eunice Dunford. Walter was a wonderful Christian who truly loved the Lord. Survivors: his loving wife of 60 years, Lorene Hunt Wilson; one brother, Edwin Wilson and wife Edith - Lebanon, Va.; three sisters, Ann Stevenson, Charlotte, N.C., Louise and husband Glenn Pierce, Carnage, Ind., Betty and husband Ronnie Booher, Bristol Tennessee; special friend, Little Caley Jo Hunt. Visitation for Walter Wilson will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday evening following the visitation with Pastor Wade Kestner, Rev.Ronnie Booher, Rev. Andy Hunt officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Forest Hills cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 a.m. Monday morning for procession to the cemetery.
