William Clifford Cochran BRISTOL, Va. William Clifford Cochran, 79 years of age, formerly of Grundy, Va., passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at the Grace Health Care, Abingdon, Va., following an extended illness. Born in Dickenson County, Va., he was the son of the late George E. and Josie A. Deel Cochran. He was the former president of Cochran's Block, Inc. and a member of the Woodland Hill Christian Church, Abingdon. Mr. Cochran was a resident of Buchanan County, Va., most of his life and was the the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Cochran served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Sandy Valley Lodge No. 17 AF & AM. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Cochran is survived by his wife, Pauline Brown Cochran, of Bristol Virginia. He is also survived by two daughters, Constance and husband, Corbett Ratliff, Grundy, and Pamela and husband, Anthony Farmer, Virginia Beach, Va.; two sons, Gary and wife, Bernadine Cochran, Haysi, Va., and Zachary and wife, Charlotte Cochran, Grundy; five grandchildren, Katrina Monique and husband, Marc Eubanks, Bristol Virginia, Brandy and husband, Kenny Hay , Abingdon, Rhiannon and husband, Mike Boyd, Richmond, Va., Sharayah Cochran, Grundy, and Nathanael Cochran, Grundy; four great-grandchildren, Kade Eubanks, Bristol Virginia, Quinn Eubanks, Bristol Virginia, Natalie Hay, Abingdon, and Ava Boyd, Richmond; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Orpha Cochran, Orbie Owens, Beulah Owens, Beatrice Hale, and Carolena Ratliff. Funeral services for William Clifford Cochran will be conducted Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Paul Viers officiating, with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, Va. Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel after 6 p.m. Monday evening with services at 7 p.m. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery.
