BLUFF CITY, Tenn. – William "Bill" Oscar Simcox, age 69, of Bluff City, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Tenn.
He was born October 28, 1939, in Bristol Virginia, a son of the late Horace and Juanita Simcox and had lived all of his life in the Bristol and Bluff City area. He was a retired welder and member of Local 538 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union and was a employee with Bristol Metals. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Vance Bible Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Ellen Rainey.
Survivors include son, Mark Bradley Simcox; daughter, Lisa K. Simcox Gill; two brothers, Verlin Simcox and wife, Judy and Teddy Simcox and wife, Ilene; three sisters, Alta Hughes and husband, Bobby, Kay Tallman and husband, Jay and Shirley Frye and husband, Jerry; grandsons, Steve Rainey and Zachary Gill; granddaughters, Candy Singleton, Angel Simcox and Sommer Rosenbalm; seven great-great grandchildren; and best friend, Dave White.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2009, at the Weaver Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Kain officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Gill, Steve Rainey, Dave White, Rick Tallman, Randy Frye and Jeff Simcox.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday at the Weaver Funeral Home.

Candy, I'm so sorry for your loss. I loved Papaw Bill like he was my own Papaw and i will never forget all the times he took us on clogging trips when we were younger and how good he was to me. He was one of the best people i know and he will be missed greatly. I'm so glad that i got the pleasure of knowing him. My thoughts are with you and your family. If you ever need anybody to talk to I'm here for you anytime.
