DONNA DOESCHER Obituary

Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home

Donna Jean Doescher, 78, of Kennewick, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012, with her family by her side, after a brief battle with congestive heart failure.

Born July 21, 1934, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Harold James and Ella Hackett. Married to her high school sweetheart, Dono Doescher, on June 12, 1952, they had their first two children before the move to Pierre, SD in 1957. Their other three children were born before the family moved to Kennewick in August 1965. In June 1970, they purchased the house in Kennewick they have since called Home. While raising her five children, Donna worked as a waitress at the Hanford House in Richland and sold Avon products. Donna and Dono owned and operated All Doors, Inc. from March of 1984 until retirement in December 2009. As wife and companion, she was active with Dono as members of the Loyal Order of Moose, their Church Choir, and Prairie Shufflers Square Dancers, serving as president in 1970; she was also President of Fine Arts Guild at Kennewick First Lutheran. As an avid bowler and proud member of the Mid-Columbia Women's Bowling Association and USBC, she attended nationals with her teammates yearly from 1965 on. As loyal mother and grandmother, Donna encouraged activities in music, sports, and education, attending concerts, matches and graduations at every opportunity.

Donna is survived by her loving spouse of 60 years, Dono; her sons Dan (Valerie), Derwin (Diana), Dondi (Jana) and daughter Dee (Les) Chapman, as well as 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister-in laws Maurene (Dick), Charlene, Linda (Adam), several nieces and nephews and an everexpanding extended family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Doreen J Soushek, her two brothers Wayne and Orville Theel, her parents Harold and Ella Hackett, mother and father in-law Edwin and Agnes Doescher and brother-in law Warren Selvar.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 4-8 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 14th & Union Street, in Kennewick. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 29, at Kennewick First Lutheran Church (Yelm & Hwy 395) with a reception to follow. A graveside prayer for the family will be held following the service at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

Don,

So sorry to hear of Donna's passing. I will miss her at the bowling alley. Also was proud of you two being president of the Shufflers all those many years ago. We saw you last at George and Jeanne's house when Rose Walker was there.

Sending hugs

I met and worked with Donna at the Hanford House. I worked as a catering secretary and she was always very helpful and cheerful. She was a pleasure to work with. Years later we would run into each other, the last time at Starbuck's. She always had a ready smile and friendly word. I was saddened to read of her passing.
