MIRANDA MAY GILMORE


Our daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose sweet spirit and smile could light up the world, went to be with the angels on February 8, 2014.

Miranda (Randy) May was born to Robert and Diane Gilmore on August 10, 1984 in Kennewick, Washington. Miranda spent 29 wonderful years living her life and sharing love with so many people around her.

She grew up in Benton City and Burbank and graduated from Burbank High School in 2003. She then continued on to the Culinary Institute of Portland where she trained as a chef. Randy's career as a chef took her to many places including Yosemite, Seattle, Portland and the Tri-Cities. Most recently she was a personal chef and nanny in Portland, Oregon where she lived close to her sister and nieces.

She is survived by her father Robert Gilmore, mother Diane Durfey Gilmore, Sister Darcy Gilmore DeBord and her husband Ben DeBord, brother Robert Gilmore Jr and his wife Michelle Gilmore, her nieces Jessica, Sydney and Morgan DeBord, her grandmothers Margery Durfey and Ailene Raap, and countless aunts, uncles and cousins.

Randy was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Orval Durfey and Robert Gilmore, and her cousin Tyler Harris.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 17th from 1-4 PM at Goose Ridge Winery in Richland. A eulogy will be read at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions will be collected and given to the wonderful charities and activities that Randy was involved with.
