June was born to Mable and Floyd Boughton on June 16, 1923, in Detroit, Michigan. The family moved to San Bernardino, California, during the depression. As a young girl, June worked in the family's restaurant where she gained her wonderful talent for cooking. After raising her sons, she worked for the San Bernardino City United School District as a purchasing agent for 20 years and retired in 1978. While living in Loyalton, California, June met Jerry Larson and they were married on August 28, 1992. They moved to Washington state where she was welcomed into Jerry's family by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
June loved to travel. She and Jerry took wonderful trips through 43 states including Alaska and Hawaii and cruised to Mexico and Alaska. Her favorite trip was to the New England states in the fall.
June was preceded in death by husbands, Clifton Peters and Floyd Ross; son, Richard Peters of Ontario, CA; and sister, Fleetie Ulmer of San Bernardino, CA.
June is survived by her husband, Jerry Larson of Kennewick; sons, David (Linda) Peters of Redlands, CA; Steven (Diane) Peters of Pearce, AZ; daughter-in-law, Linda Peters of Ontario, CA; sisters, Audrey Gallavan of Bullhead City, AZ; and Gladys Boughton of San Bernardino, CA; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her stepchildren, Jerry (Shelley) Larson, Larry (Karen) Larson, Diane (Jim) Foss, Teresa (Jay) Lavender, Curt (Tracy) Larson and Jerry's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of her life on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union, in Kennewick, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Breast Cancer Society, 3971 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH 43123-2839.
