WILMA SITTON Obituary

Mueller's Chapel of the Falls

Wilma Sitton was born November 30, 1925, to Peter J. and Esther G. Bakker. Wilma died peacefully at Kennewick General Hospital on February 12, 2011.

Wilma spent her childhood in the Yakima area where her father was a horticulturist and worked in the orchards. Her parents moved to the Finley area around 1936, in order for her mother to take care of her grandmother. Wilma finished high school at the old Hover school. In those days the women worked seasonal jobs at packing houses or at Church's Grape Juice Company in Kennewick. Don and Wilma met at the juice plant and romance bloomed. After Don served in the Navy, they were married in May of 1946.

To this union Don and Wilma extended their family, son Roy L. Sitton and daughter Nancy J. Sitton were born.

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her daughter Nancy. Wilma is survived by her husband and son.

Wilma was good at finding water in the area by water dowsing. Don and Wilma enjoyed vacations at the Potholes and Spokane area lakes. They also enjoyed their trips to the coast at Willapa Bay and later as they ventured down the Oregon Coast.

Wilma's wishes were that no public services were to be held; however there will be a private graveside inurnment at a later date.

The family invites you to sign their online guestbook at www.muellersfuneralhomes.com.
