Sandra Spivey Obituary

Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home

Sandra Hubbard Spivey passed away February 2, 2011, at age 51, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family in Pasco, Washington. Sandra was born January 13, 1960, in Burlingame, California. As a small child, her family moved to Alaska. In 1979, she married her high school sweetheart, Bobby Spivey. After having three children, she returned to school and earned a teaching degree at UAA. Sandra taught at Susitna Elementary in Anchorage, AK. Once her children were grown, she and Bobby decided to move to Washington, where she worked at Wiley Elementary in West Richland, WA, and then White Bluffs in West Richland, WA. She also continued her own education and earned a Master's Degree in Education in 2009. Sandra was well respected and loved by her family, friends, colleagues, and students. She loved to be outside, playing in the sunshine, whether it be on her boat in the middle of the Columbia River or on the beach in Maui. She truly loved the adventure of life.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Bobby, of Pasco, WA; daughter, Jillian (Jesse) Head, granddaughter, Kaylynn, of Anchorage, AK; son, Justin Spivey, of Anchorage, AK; son, Jason Spivey, of Pasco, WA. Her mother, Marilyn DeVine, of Richland, WA. I miss you, my dear sister. Every day. You gave us such a gift by fighting so hard - and sacrificing your own comfort to comfort us... til the very end. You will be forever with me in all I do, until the end of time. And when my days are done - I will run to you, my sister.
