DELONE ANDERSEN Obituary

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home

Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Delone Baty Andersen peacefully passed away on the morning of April 3, 2011, at her home with her husband and close family members at her side.

Delone was born on January 28, 1919, at her family home in Harper Ward, Utah, which is located near Brigham City. There she attended grade school and high school. After graduating, she went on to college in Salt Lake City, Utah. During this time she was employed at State Security Bank and Bushnell General Military Hospital.

She married her sweetheart Lee in New York City while he was stationed at Brooklynn Army Base during WWII. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Delone and Lee made their first home in Brigham City, Utah. It was while living in this home that they had their children; Kristene, Douglas, Ted, Cheryl, and Alisa. In 1963, they made the big move to the 'Great Northwest,' the Columbia Basin. They spent time in Othello, Basin City, Prescott, and rural Pasco where they have lived for the last 35 years.

Grandma was a force of energy and love. She taught by example her love of the gospel and Jesus Christ. She took great joy in her temple service. She and granddad served in the Seattle Temple for 13 years. Grandma loved her family and was a devoted participant in their activities and lives. Grandma and Granddad also loved to garden and flowers were always important.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Stinson; granddaughter, Abby Andersen; her parents, Richard W. Baty and Wilhelmine Korth; and her four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lee; her children, Kristene (Steve) Hymas, Princeton, Idaho; Douglas (Rosanne) Andersen, Basin City, WA; Ted (Elizabeth) Andersen, Provo, UT; Alisa A. Meyer (Roy), Pasco, WA. Also survived by 34 grandkids and 79 great-grandkids. Delone will ever be missed.

The family wished to thank all those who aided and comforted Delone in the last several months. Their kindness and care were felt and deeply appreciated.

Dear Andersen Family,
I came to love Delone during the years I knew her. I did her hair for several years and it was never work--just a visit each week with a friend. She was always a humble disciple of Christ. I was honored to have her consider me her friend. RuLayne Hansen Derrickson

Dear Brother Anderson

It is never easy to let our loved ones leave this earthly life, even after a long long time of having them with us. When I think of your family I think about all the times all of us and your kids were growing up. I remember how beauitful your wife is and what a neat mother she is. What we have come to know is that the lonely days that lie ahead will be filled with the wonderful memories of a loving mother and wife. You both have raised such a wonderful family and thank you for your faithful dedicaton of loving and serving us all. We will miss seeing Sister Anderson by your side but please know that she has infulences our lives for good. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
