SHARYN AMES Obituary

Einan's Funeral Home

Sharyn J. Ames, West Richland, WA, was born December 23, 1944, to Ruth and Russell Ames in Everett, WA. Sharyn lived most of her 66 years in and around the Tri-Cities. She lived several years in Idaho with her sister, Sharleene Russell. The last 12 years she has made her home with her brother and sister-in-law, David and Florence Ames, West Richland, WA. On Wednesday, March 30, 2011, Sharyn went to heaven to be reunited with 'mommy and daddy.'

For many years, Sharyn enjoyed shopping at the mall and bowling with her friends, clients and staff at the ARC of the Tri-Cities. After the ARC, Sharyn graduated to the Adult Day Services, Kennewick, WA. There she enjoyed exceptionally good and loving care from all the staff, especially, Laci, Holly, Dezi, Mary, Cini, Malinda and Enid. Thank you to all the Ben Franklin Transit van drivers for your help and courtesy shown to Sharyn. Thank you to Yakima Valley School, Selah, WA, for the wonderful respite care.

Sharyn enjoyed being with family members, the birthday parties, handing out Halloween treats, hugging Santa (brother David) at 'Mismus,' dyeing Easter eggs with the children, anticipating the arrival of the Easter bunny. For Sharyn, nearly every day was a holiday. She met everyone with, 'Hi, I Sharyn, I fine'.

Being greeted at the front door of Walmart by the lovely lady with the smiley face stickers was the highlight of a shopping day with 'family'. We want to thank everyone who showed kindness to her in so many ways throughout her lifetime.

Sharyn leaves behind many loved ones. Fortunate to have shared in her life's journey include her sister, Ruth S. Russell, Kennewick, WA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell and Jackie Ames, Marysville, WA; David and Florence Ames, West Richland, WA; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her beautiful canine friend, Puppy (Sammy), was the love of her life. Puppy will miss Sharyn's gentle, loving, back rubs, and will be forever grateful to Sharyn for 'adopting' and loving her.

Those who knew her had the opportunity to get to know the 'angelic' Sharyn as well as the fun, playful and just a bit 'devious' and 'mischievous' Sharyn. The simplest of gifts delighted her. She wanted to hear 'I love you' and she said it often to those with whom she shared her days and gave the good night hugs. Sharyn loved babies and had many baby dolls, each one named and well cared for.

As you climbed the stairway to heaven, we are certain that the golden gates flung open to welcome you home. The Angels sang, you were met with joyful resound by family and friends who went before you. We shall miss you, little sister, auntie and friend. Yes, Sharyn, You stay me; I stay you, always in my heart.

A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Einan's Funeral Home on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral followed by a graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens; Father Perron Auve will be officiating. Sharyn's family invites you to join them for a reception at Memories at Sunset Event Center after the graveside service.

We didn't know Miss Ames but our family was so deeply moved by the tender, loving and thoughtfully written obituary that it seems proper to express appreciation for the reflection of God's love in those touching words.

Sharyn always greeted you with a smile and a hug, what a delightful woman. She is greatly missed by all who had the pleasure and joy of meeting and knowing her. We are sorry for the loss, but we also rejoyice in the fact that she is in heaven. We are so thankful for the entire Ames and extended family, you all bless us beyond words!
