BARBARA ANDREWS Obituary
Einan's Funeral Home
Barbara Ann Andrews, 71, of Richland, passed away February 20, 2011, in Kennewick, WA. She was born April 18, 1939, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, the second of three girls born to Evelyn and Charles Nieman. Barbara spent her entire childhood in Wisconsin and has lived in the Tri-Cities for 20 years, working in the Surgery Department at Kadlec Medical Center until her retirement in 2002. Barb was a member of the VFW Auxiliary as well as an enthusiastic BINGO player, which she could be found playing a couple times a week.
She married Clarence Andrews in 1958. They moved to Elgin, IL, where they had their first three children, Steve, Scott and Gail, within two years of being married. In her early married life they lived in Sultan, WA, then in Palmdale, CA, where her fourth child, Brent, was born. From there they moved to Tucson, AZ, and then back to Monroe, WA. Upon her husband's retirement they moved to Richland, WA, to be closer to their two sons, Steve and Brent.
Barb had a close group of friends that nicknamed themselves 'The Awesomes.' They took trips and would get together frequently to play cards and other games. In her earlier adult years she loved to camp, and more recently, she could be found at her grandchildren's track meets, baseball, softball and basketball games in the front row with her snack bag at the ready. She was always their biggest fan! All of her grandchildren brought her joy, and she was very proud of them, which was evident with all the pictures of them throughout her house.
Barb was a Cheese Head Packer fan and tried to watch all of their football games. She was even able to watch them win the Super Bowl this year.
Survivors include son Steve Andrews and wife Kathy; son Scott Andrews; daughter Gail Richer and husband Bill; son Brent Andrews and wife Karen; grandchildren Angie, Courtney, Stephanie, Michael, Britney, Ashley, Kayla, Brandi; four great-grandchildren.
