Bernice Knight Obituary

Einan's Funeral Home

Bernice 'Bea' Knight, dearly beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on March 27, 2011. She was born Bernice B. Byers in Elk River, Idaho. She grew up in Priest River, Idaho, and later in Spokane, Washington.

In 1955, Bea married her high school sweetheart, Bob Knight. They had two daughters, Ann and Roberta.

Bea's main hobbies were cooking, raising flowers and collecting and selling beautiful antique jewelry. She also enjoyed camping and boating. She always had a love of the ocean and her special pets.

Bea is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob Knight, of Richland, WA; daughter Roberta Frank and husband Rick, both of Richland, WA; grandsons Jason Knight of Seattle, WA; and Michael Price of Saint Johnsonville, NY; great-granddaughters Brooke Elizabeth and Jenna Paige Price of Saint Johnsonville, NY.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Ann, grandson Derrick, sisters Elaine and Lois and brother Richard. The family would like to thank the Tri-Cities Hospice for their caring service. A special thank you to her caregiver Evitte for all her care. Bea requested there be no memorial service.

God looked around his garden

And found an empty place,

He then looked down upon earth

And saw your sweet, tired face.

He put his arms around you

And lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful

For he always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering

He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never

Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough

And the hills were hard to climb.

So he closed your weary eyes

And gently whispered, 'Peace be thine'.

It broke our hearts to lose you

But you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

Dear Bob, Roberta, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Bea was such a sweet lady, and I had so much respect and admiration for her. She was so kind to me whenever I was around her. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy at this sad time.

I feel so blessed to have gotten to know Bea and her family. She is gone but will never be forgotten. I will carry a memory of Bea in my heart always! Her husband Bob and Daughter "Bertie" were such a blessing to her! Their loving care was over and above any I have seen in 30 years! Though I only knew her for awhile I know that Bea was a wonderful wife, Mother and Grandmother. It showed throughout her beautiful home and in the care that her husband and daughter provided. She was very well loved! She will be missed but she left her love with anyone she touched.
