CARL SONDERMAN Obituary

Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home

Carl G. Sonderman born April 11, 1942, in Spokane and passed away peacefully at Hospice House surrounded by family and friends on January 29, 2011, at the age of 68 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Carl was raised in the Tri-Cities, graduating from Kennewick High in 1960 and from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1967 and has practiced law in Benton and Franklin Counties ever since. Carl was the Past-President of the Benton-Franklin Counties Bar Association, was Past-President of the Prosser Jaycees and Past Commodore of the Clover Island Yacht Club. He had been active in the Benton County Historical Society. Carl loved practicing law and especially loved being in the court room.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Veronica, and father W.F. 'Bud' Sonderman. Carl will forever be remembered by his brother, Dick Sonderman; sister-in-law, Jacque; nieces, Darci Mitcham (Dave), Cami Hanson; and sister, Georgia Buckenberger. Carl will be missed tremendously by Karen his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 25 years. Carl also leaves behind his children, Alicia Fullenkamp (Joe), Laura Brat (Dave), Kurt Sonderman (Channon), Rick Anderson (Camille), Stacie Kern (Gary), and Randy Anderson (Renae). He is remembered by 13 treasured grandchildren. He's leaving behind a large number of loving, caring friends and colleagues and his two devoted Yorkies, Amber and Willie.

Carl enjoyed listening to classical music, reading, traveling and eating great food accompanied by great wine. Carl loved hunting and fishing and his buddies have many great stories of their trips together. He was great at building remote control airplanes but not so great at flying them.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick. Services will be held at the Cathedral of Joy on Saturday, Feb. 5th, at 1:00 p.m.
