CHARLES FREDERICK "CHUCK" TOPPING

CHARLES TOPPING Obituary

Westford Funeral Home

Charles 'Chuck' Frederick Topping Born October 8, 1949, in Van Nuys, CA, to Russell & Phyllis Topping, Chuck passed away Friday, February 11, 2011, at the age of 61 from brain cancer.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marcia, his daughter Sarah Lee (Andrew), his daughter Mary Anderson (Jeffrey), his son Matthew (Megan), his daughter Abigail Obermiller (Kyle), grandchildren Izabelle, Nathan, Kristen and Isaac, his mother Phyllis Fosselius, and his brother Mark (Debbie).

Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, cheering on his children in their various sports and frequent family camping and vacation trips. He was devoted to his Christian faith and always active in church events and charities. He was often reading books, working and playing on computers, bicycling and motorcycle riding.

After high school graduation, Chuck served in the Navy for 6 years as a Nuclear Submariner and later in the Marine Reserves for 6 years. Chuck spent over 35 years working for Hanford operations, spending the majority of his career in the field of Information Technology, most recently as a project manager for Lockheed Martin Information Services. He loved his job - both the analytical aspects and his hands-on role in developing and mentoring staff.

Friends and family are invited to reflect and reminisce as we celebrate Chuck's life on Saturday, March 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Assembly Christian Center in Pasco. Memorials may be made in Chuck's name to the Royal Family Kids Camp at Faith Assembly (http://pasco.rfkc.org) or Chris Elliott Fund for Glioblastoma Brain Cancer Research (www.chriselliottfund.org).
