Dear Bonnie and Family. . . this is a most terrible loss for you and all the rest of his family. We will keep you in our prayers. He was known to us by the nickname -- Buck. And as he was the older brother, he was always looked up to from those of us in the Tri-Cities. Our kindest regards, Clint & Ginger Griffin.

Hi,

So sorry to hear of Del's passing. My last contact with Del was many years ago when I somehow ended up with his e-mail address and we exchanged greetings.

Del introduced me to bowling when we were about 13 years old and it became my life's passion and vocation, something I will always thank him for.

May he rest in peace.

I’m so sorry to hear of Del’s death... it is very sad. Del was a wonderful and loyal friend and mentor. I very much enjoyed working with Del in DOE and later in MSI, and of course enjoy his company and conversation throughout. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Del will be missed!

Bonnie and Family,

Del was like a father to me. He was always selflessly willing advise me through both serious and trivial issues. His intellect and general wisdom was superior, but his demeanor was neither arrogant nor condescending. i will miss him, and keep him in my thoughts for the remainder of my life.

Del was a mentor to me and many others at the Department of Energy, and I believe at the AEC and NRC before DOE. He guided me in my approach to the nuclear industry, in my approach to the power and limitations inherent in governments, and in my understanding of friendship and loyalty. He was always serious and funny at the same time, a marvelous teacher and an even better friend. He spoke so often and so lovingly of his family. The world seems ever dimmer without his presence. He will be remembered forever by me and greatly missed. I will keep him and his family in my prayers. Sincerely, Mary Ann Novak
