EUGENE STORMENT Obituary
1917-2011
Eugene 'Gene' V. Storment passed away May 25, 2011, after a brief illness.
Gene was born and raised in Whitman County, WA, on December 31, 1917. He married Edith Birdsell on March 28, 1943, prior to being deployed to England with the Army Air Force.
After returning to the states, he and Edith farmed in Whitman County before relocating to Pasco, WA, in the late 1960's. He worked at Columbia Basin College for a number of years before retiring. He and Edith owned and operated Storment Library out of their home. They specialized in old and rare books, collecting over 35,000 titles. Along with some of their other hobbies, they were avid bridge players, which Gene enjoyed up until his death.
A memorial service celebrating Gene's life will be held Saturday, June 11, 2011, at 1 p.m. at The First Lutheran Church, 530 W Bonneville, Pasco. Interment will be in Spokane at a later date.
