Ferne Mary Deal Jones passed away on, March 12, 2011, at the age of 100. She was born on July 31, 1910, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to William and Corda Deal.

Ferne graduated from the Seattle General Hospital School of Nursing in 1933 and was employed by Kadlec Hospital, General Electric and Hanford Environmental Health Foundation. On June 8, 1946, she married Dewey H. Jones and lived in Alaska and Venezuela before moving to Richland, Washington in 1948.

Ferne enjoyed growing and sharing her flowers, loved her special pets and cherished quiet serene mornings fishing with Dewey after they retired. She was a member of Central United Protestant Church, Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

Ferne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewey; her parents, William and Corda Deal; sister, Blanche Windell, brother-inlaw, Don Mitchell and an infant brother.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Bonnie McCulloch and sister, Faune Mitchell; niece, Karla Jean Bland; nephew, Jackson Slingerland; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren and three great-great-granddaughters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 8:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. at Einan's Funeral Home followed by the graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Memorial may be made to the Hospice at the Chaplaincy, or a charity of your choice.
