GEORGE CHANDLER Obituary

George, 80, died peacefully in his sleep on March 13, 2011. He was married to Barbara Chandler. He was the father of George Chandler III, Kristeen Rodrigues, Cameon Landers, Beth Ann Phillips and Deanna Swihart. His grandchildren are George IV, Nicole, Shane, Ryan, Karis, Karlene, Dalton and Dillon. Great-grandchildren are Chandler, Timber, Nevaeh, Taylor and Neva.

George was born August 19, 1930, in Bellingham. George's life was one of constant change and adventure, as he was not a person who could sit idle. During George's early years, he worked as an accountant for a family business and then as a sole proprietor operating a gas station, a heavy equipment business and a car sales lot. He also enjoyed breeding and racing horses.

In the late 90s, George retired and moved to Horn Rapids in Richland to be near his family and enjoy his love for golf. Although his intention was to retire, it wasn't long before he befriended the community and became the bookkeeper for the homeowners association. He so enjoyed cruising around the development in his golf cart, stopping in at the golf course pro shop to visit, and checking with neighbors to see if they had any problems he could help them with. He had a big heart and was a stranger to no one.

Besides golf, George shared a life long passion for fishing with his son, his grandsons and every other family member in between. He was also eager to join any of his family for trips out of town, whether it be a vacation cruise or a simple RV trip for a fun filled weekend out of town. He was ready to go anywhere, any time and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
