GORDON PEREKRESTENKO Obituary

Gordon Perekrestenko passed away February 19, 2011. He was born on January 16, 1934, in North Dakota. He was a devoted big brother to sisters Doris and Jane.

Gordon moved to Seattle in 1966 where he found the love of his life, Shirley. Married in 1971, he began his family with Shirley and her son Owen. The family of three welcomed their daughter Katrina in 1975. After their nest emptied, it was time to move to West Richland to spoil their granddaughter, Sarah and be close to Owen and his wife, Julie.

After suffering a major stroke in 1998, both Shirley and Gordon moved to Canyon Lakes Restorative and Rehabilitation Center. Sadly, in 2001, Shirley proceeded Gordon in death. Gordy spent the remainder of his time at Canyon Lakes in their care.

Gordy was a 'caretaker extraordinaire.' We are incredibly lucky to have had him in our lives: to love and care for us. Gordy, we will miss you deeply until we see you in the funnies!

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the MS Society. A graveside service will be held in Richland, WA at the Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1 p.m. on Feb. 26 followed by a memorial gathering at Canyon Lakes at 3:30 p.m.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Gordon was an amazing man... He always brought a smile to my face. He was a warm and caring man. I loved hearing stories from his days in the military and there after. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his son and daughter... he talked about them constantly!! We will miss you Gorden
