In 1972 Loris, along with Aline, began volunteering at the Tri-Cities Food Bank. He served as president for 4 years from 1976-1980. He continued this work for a total of 30 years, putting in thousands of volunteer hours. Loris has resided at Brookdale Retirement Home since 1999 where he was active in the residence board and continued to play bridge 5 to 6 times a week. He had been a member of the Richland Elks Club for 33 years and a member of the Richland Kiwanis Club for 36 years, usually attending three different club meetings a week. He was a member of the Southside Church. Loris is preceded by his wife, Aline. He was a wonderful man. The first I got acquainted with him was mid70's when he joined Southside Church. We had a carnival to send our 2 sons to Greenlake WI to a church camp and he manned one of the booths. He and Aline regularly attended the potlucks that we had frequently. Aline taught adult Sunday School for many years. He donated money so we could change the fluorescent light tubes to LED tubes in our Sanctuary for which we are very thankful since they seldom need to be changed. We have missed him since he was not able to attend church any longer and will certainly miss seeing him.
