LUCILLE CHRISTIE Obituary

Smith Funeral Home LTD and Crematory

Lucille, Mom and Nannie, decided to free herself, dance into the wind, create a new language. And birds fluttered around her, writing 'Yes' in the Sky.

Lucille May Christie, 90, of Prosser, WA, whispered away on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Lucille was born January 23, 1920, the daughter of Harold and Myrtle (Sutten) Howe. When Lucille was 5, her mother, Myrtle passed away and was later raised by Harold and Irene Howe. In 1939, she married Werner Johnson in Seattle, WA. Werner passed away due to a logging accident.

Lucille later met Bill Christie and they were married in Las Vegas in 1955. She with her husband, Bill Christie, managed Lower Valley Golf Course (Black Rock Creek) from 1958 to 1982.

Lucille is survived by one son, Bob Johnson of Prosser, WA.; two daughters, Dora Hogue (Mike) of Prosser, WA, and grandson, Riley Hogue; Connie Carpino of Sunnyside; and grandchildren, Lorie Hull, Chantelle Wisner, Jennifer Carpino and Zachery Carpino; four great-grandchildren, Amie Ell, Brittny Smith, Mathew Wisner and Kyle Wisner; three great-great-grandchildren, Emma Ell, Myah Ell and True Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Myrtle, and stepmother, Irene Howe; first husband, Werner Johnson and second husband, Bill Christie, 1985; one daughter, Debbie Christie; one great granddaughter, Brandi Barlow; two brothers, Donnie Howe and Bernard Howe; and one sister, Marie Rose.
