MARGARET HARTELIUS Obituary


Hillcrest/Bruce Lee Memorial Center

Margaret Anne Hartelius, 70, passed away at home in Pasco on February 25, 2011. She was born on April 8, 1940, in Seattle, WA, to Roy Pipinic' Bakan and Ardith Bakan Canoy Miller. Margaret married Carl A. Hartelius, on June 1, 1957. Margaret enjoyed staying home and raising her children.

Margaret was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an assistant coach for Special Olympics. She loved to tye-dye, reading, canning, gardening and family trips. Margaret also loved the ocean.

She is survived by her mother, Ardith; brother, George; sister, Nancy; husband, Carl; daughters, Deanne, Rosemary and Rebecca; sons, Kevin and Eric; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many extended family members.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Roy Pipinic' Bakan.

A viewing will be held on March 4, 2011, 4-7 p.m. at Hillcrest Bruce Lee Memorial Center, 2804 W. Lewis St. in Pasco. Funeral service will be held on March 5, 2011, 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7550 Eltopia West Rd., in Eltopia, WA. Burial at City View Cemetery following services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Special Olympic of Washington at www.sowa.org or to Hospice at www.tcchaplains.org in memorial to Margaret Anne Hartelius would be appreciated.
