ROGER CARTER Obituary

Roger B. Carter was born January 15, 1957, in Eugene, Oregon. He spent most of his growing up years in Westfir, Oregon. Roger left behind his daughter, four sisters, an uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as the many friends he had made over the years. Roger was an Electrical Supervisor at Hampton Lumber Company in Willamina, Oregon, and is remembered as one who took much pride in his job. Roger finished his electrical schooling and received his license all while working full time and raising his teenage daughter. There wasn't a task set before him that he wouldn't accomplish. Roger led an honest life, full of integrity, selflessness, strength and a positive attitude. He was an avid tailgater, easily being one of the biggest Oregon Duck Fans of all time, leaving us with many untouchable tailgating experiences and everlasting MEMORIES-we thank you for that.

"Dad, not a singe day will go by that you are not in my mind and in my heart. You gave me a life of opportunity and taught me how to be the kind of person I want to be. You will continue to be untouchable as a Dad and as a man. There would never be enough words to describe how much I love and will continue to look up to you, until we meet again. Thank you, I love."

Roger will be missed by many, but the impact he made in our lives will continue on. He once said years ago, "Good people go young." That's an understatement. Thank you for blessing our lives, teaching us, and showing us your strength and humor through this fight. You are the one who got us through. Forever in our hearts, and in our memories you will be. May 22, 2011.

I'm so sorry to learn of your loss. I went to high school with Roger. What I remember most is that he was always so nice to me. . . just simply kind and fun to be around. My condolences to the family. Lisa (Henry)Emmerich

There are no words that will take away your pain, only time will help to ease it. May “the God of all comfort” (1 Cor. 1:3) help to you at this time. I am so sorry for your families loss.

Roger was one of my best friends in High School. He could always slide that dry humor into any situation and make anyone smile. Roger was one of those rare people who one could always trust and more importantly-rely upon to be there. Our world needs more guy like Roger--he will be sorely missed.

Chelsea - I am so sorry to hear about Roger passing away. What a shocker - he was such a wonderful person and loved you so much. And thanks for setting us up - you were right, I wasn't his type. But will always remember how proudly he spoke of you and what an independent person you were. He loved you so much and what a great family your boyfriend has - I know they will help comfort you. But if you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to call me at 509-947-4962. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
