Thelma Russert Obituary

THELMA DEAN (HACKER) RUSSERT

Kennewick, Wash.

Thelma Dean (Hacker) Russert was born October 7, 1924, in Stockton, Missouri, to Willard and Clara Hacker. She passed away at her home in Kennewick on May 14, 2011. Her family moved to Kennewick when she was three years old where she attended Kennewick schools.

She met and married Wert Russert in 1942. They lived and raised their family in Kennewick. They were married 66 years when her sweetheart passed away in 2008.

She is survived by her five children: Cynthia (Ken) Holman; Virginia (Sam) Heath; Diane Smith; Patricia (Don) Manhart; Wert (Marilyn) Russert; 11 Grandchildren; 14 Great-Grandchildren; and a Great-Great-Granddaughter; sisters Juanita Bishop and Wilma (Don) Grimshaw; Sisters-in-law Glenna Russert and Marilyn Hacker; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, brother and granddaughter.

She worked alongside her husband as a bookkeeper for their business. But her passion in life was being the ultimate homemaker. She had a talent for making memories and traditions for her children and grandchildren. She made the holidays perfect, she loved to decorate, sew, crochet and try new recipes. She was a gentle, graceful and beautiful lady. She was the best mom and and grandma. She will be terribly missed but her recipes will live on!

A graveside service will be held at Desert Lawn Mausoleum Sat, May 21, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at the Chaplaincy, Kennewick.

We will all miss Aunt Thelma and I agree she was a very gentle and kind lady. She always had something good to eat.
