WILLIAM KELLY Obituary

Bill Kelly passed peacefully February 24, 2011, at his home in Kennewick, concluding his brave and stoic battle with cancer. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife and best friend Diane Kelly, daughter Jennifer Kelly (Bradley Chrisman), son Nicholas Collins (Tami), devoted parents, Bill Sr. and Betty Kelly, sister Gale McDaniel, niece Danyell, nephews Donny and Dusty, and grandchildren Akane (KC) Chrisman, Skylar Collins, and Desiree Collins.

Born in Kennewick, WA, June 10, 1954, he remained a lifelong resident. His life was filled with many accomplishments and he rewarded his family and friends alike with the stories of his service in the U.S. Navy, and the humor and courage of his days on the rodeo circuit. Bill worked with his Dad on the starting gate at the horse races for over 35 years, heading some strong-willed horses with his strong determination. A member of the Sheriff's Mounted Posse for 30 years, he took great pride in the organization and their contribution to the community in their time of need. He also volunteered at the Benton-Franklin Rodeo, working security behind the bucking chutes for many years, enjoying his time talking with the cowboys and doing what he could to keep them safe.

Bill's 27 years of work history at Hanford proved his devotion to a job well done. Starting as an operator, later becoming a pipefitter, he then worked his way up into management. He currently was a Facilities manager for Washington River Protection Solutions. The loyalty and friendship of his peers and crew are a testament to his personality.

He was an accomplished husband, father, son, patriot and caring friend. He will be remembered as the one who would take time to listen to your worries and concerns and do what he could to help.

He was preceded in death by his much-loved step-son Adam Collins.

The memorial service will be held at the City Church located at 4624 W. 10th Kennewick, WA. on March 4th at 3:00.
