ADAM OLIVER Obituary

Adam Richard Oliver, 36, of Benton City, Washington passed away on May 15, 2014 with his best friend and 'soul mate', Kerena Burns, by his side. Adam bravely fought cancer for five years. He was born on April 20, 1978 in Richland, Washington. He lived most of his life in Benton City. He moved briefly to Cheney where he graduated high school then back to the Tri-Cities where he earned his BA from WSU.

Adam worked banquets at the Hilton in Portland, Oregon and later for the Red Lion Hotel in Tri-Cities as an Income Audit and Accounts Payable Clerk while going to school. In 2004 he began working for Lockheed Martin in Richland as Technical Support Analyst where he was recognized for outstanding support and received Employee of the Quarter from the Network Operations Security Center/Solution center. He eventually moved on from Lockheed to Ashland, Oregon where he pursued a job as a Simulation Technician at Oregon Health and Science University. He was also an enthusiastic member of Toastmasters. Adam enjoyed skateboarding, bicycling, hiking, snowboarding, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, yacht racing, and MUSIC! Adam also loved to travel and went to places like Costa Rica, NY for the Y2K celebration, London, Boston, Phoenix, Jamaica, Florida, and more. Adam was on a quest for personal growth and eagerly took on challenges.

Adam is survived by his father Bruce Oliver, brother Ben Oliver and wife Jenny, sister Teresa Owen and husband Jeff, his favorite niece Brea Bampton and husband Chris, and favorite nephew Matt Oliver and wife Lynsey. Adams mother, Mary Oliver, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 8, 2014, at the Sandburg Event Center in West Richland, Washington beginning at 1:30.

Adam was one of our kids in younger years; he and our daughter Charisa were best friends til the school years. I just can't believe he's gone when it's my generation that should be going first.
