We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Arlene Sydney Fletcher, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Arlene was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She raised her 4 children in St James. She relocated to Langley, BC in 2005 and was thrilled to be close to most of her family. Arlene was a resident of Avalon Gardens for the past year and really enjoyed being part of that community. Arlene had many dear friends - some for over 60 years - including Merle Muloin of Winnipeg and Adele Peleshaty of Victoria, BC.

Arlene lost her mother, Lucille Miller, when she was only 4 years old. She is also predeceased by her father Robert Parker Fletcher in 1984 and her half-sister, Devon Pavlidis in 2005. Arlene leaves to mourn her daughters: Shannon Dutchyn (Colin Rankin) of Langley and Lindsay Seaman (Gerald Allen) of Abbotsford, sons: Robert and Fletcher Seaman of Winnipeg, grandchildren: Patrick, Siobhan, Mark, Alyssa, Raina, and great grandson, Joseph.

Arlene also leaves her new pet, Peaches the cat. Arlene was predeceased by her beloved Cleo the cat one month ago.

Arlene was very fond of cats and had many, many of them over the years. Arlene was very kind, caring and articulate. She loved music, poetry, and listening to Stuart McLean's "Vinyl Café". She enjoyed playing cards and was a formidable opponent!

The family would like to thank the staff of Avalon Gardens for their support as well as Dr Richard Bacchus and Dr Mohamed of Langley. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Arlene's favorite charity for animals, LAPS (Langley Animal Protection Society).

Arlene requested no memorial service be held. We will continue to hold her memory in our hearts.
