I just learned of Jim's passing and was saddened by the news. I worked on many transmission line projects in BC during the 1970's and Jim was a legend in the industry. Even today, no one comes close to him and his team back in the day. My sincere condolences to his family. I wish I had the chance to chat with him over the good old days before he passed. I attached a picture of the site where I first met Jim in July 1975 (above Hick's Lake near Harrison Hot Springs).

I am sorry for the loss of James Carabetta. May the family find comfort in the words found at Jeremiah 29:11.

Anita and I are very sorry to hear of Jim's passing and wish to pass on our condolences. He was one of my favourite clients for over thirty years. I always enjoyed his company and listening to his stories of growing up in North Vancouver, working in the shipyards and the early days with B.C Electric and Catre. He loved to talk about his family, especially his many grand children. He was a class act and will be missed by all who knew him.
With deepest sympathy,
Neil & Anita Dennis

My family, especially my Dad (Neil(Mac)McLean) & I, spent two weeks every August on holidays at Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island. Our families had so much fun fishing and having BBQ's with lots of great friends at St Andrew's Lodge. These are some of my fondest memories. He will be dearly missed.
With my deepest sympathy.

Jim was a neighbour of mine for the last dozen years and we'd always go to the SOB (Some Old Boys) luncheons at Cheers Restaurant the last Friday of every month where there would be some 60 to 80 old-timers, many of them who attended North Van High as he did, and all talking about the good old days. I always enjoyed his reminiscences of his days playing junior football for George Deacon and the North Shore Lions in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
