Miller, Elsie* - Troy  
Elsie C. Miller WEST STEPHENTOWN - Elsie C. Miller, 79, of Rte. 43 died on Thursday April 21, 2016 at the home of her daughter after a long illness. Born in Troy, Elsie was the daughter of the late Ervin and Helen Geerholt Teal and wife of the late Arnold L. “Jitterbug” Miller. Elsie was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked for a short time at Cluet & Peabodyin Troy and the Prugel family of Averill Park where she made Christmas wreaths and cemetery blankets. Elsie was a lifelong homemaker and caregiver to her family. Elsie enjoyed card games, dancing, crafts, fishing, gardening and being in the audience listening to live music. Elsie was the mother of the late Joyce H. Miller, sister of the late Ervin Teal Jr., Edith Robbins, Alberta Sears, Judith Marchand and Esther Holt. Survivors include her daughter Patricia A. Smith of Averill Park, her brother Jackie Teal of Saratoga, her sisters Evelyn Myott of Poestenkill and Beverly Stockholm of West Sand Lake, her granddaughters Tami (Everett) Carter, Crisy (late Todd Denue) Geerholt and Kimberly Geerholt and her great grandchildren Gabby, Ruby, Miracle, Cadyn and Jathian and her dear friend & caregiver Scott Luzinski. Relatives and Friends are invited and may call at the West Stephentown Baptist Church 1672 NY 43 West Stephentown on Sunday May 1, 2-4 p.m. followed by Memorial Service at 4 p.m. If desired the family requests donations in memory of Elsie C. Maier, Helen* - Troy  
Helen B. Maier, TROY - Helen B. Carroll Maier, 94 passed away peacefully at her residence in Lansingburgh on April 22, 2016 after a short illness. Born in Troy, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Carroll and Sarah Moran Carroll. She was raised by her Aunt Helen and Uncle Tom Roche. She was beloved wife of Andy Maier who died in 2012. They were married in 1955. She graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1940. Prior to her marriage, Helen was employed by the Veteran’s Administration and by Drs. Martin and Albright. She was a homemaker most of her life. Together she and Andy raised two children who survive her, Stephen J. Maier and Christopher T. Maier (Beth Walsh) both of Troy. She is also survived by her three grandchildren Kristen Maier of Washington State, and Thomas and Eric Maier of Troy. Helen was predeceased by three brother John F. Carroll, Charles Carroll, and Francis Carroll, two sisters Elizabeth Copeland and Josephine Bourk. “Helen of Troy” as she liked to refer to herself, was outgoing, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to dance. She was a good friend to many and maintained friendships over her lifetime because she was caring, compassionate and genuine. Over the years she organized class reunions of her St. Augustine’s grammar school class and her high school class. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Augustine’s Church, Troy. Helen was also a life member of Germania Hall where, because of her proud Irish heritage, she and Andy shared many good times. Above all, she was a loving and supportive wife and mother, who will be greatly missed. Helen’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to Haydee, Vivian, Ivonne and Miliza for having provided loving and compassionate care to Helen. Her family is also especially thankful to her loving and devoted niece Chris Carroll. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where the funeral mass will be celebrated. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Michon, Robert* - Waterford  
Robert J. Michon WATERFORD - Robert J. Michon, 55, of State St. died Saturday April 23, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Gerald and Ruth Brierley Michon. He was a 1979 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School and a 1981 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College. Bob had been employed by Tougher Industries in Menands for 8 years and earlier had been employed by BPI Piping in Waterford. He is the brother of Amy J. Merola (Tony) of Delray Beach, FL, Edward T. Michon (Tracy) of Martinsburg, WV, James G. Michon of Ballston Spa and the late David J. Michon and is brother in law of Sarah Michon of Troy. He is also survived by a niece and 2 nephews as well as his feline friend Fred. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 am at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 pm.
