Frances Gutermuth Koerner BERLIN - Frances Gutermuth Koerner, 95 of Berlin, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Williamstown, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Koerner. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Sarah Cowee Guthermuth. Frances lived in Berlin for most of her life. She was a homemaker and was very active in the First Baptist Church of Berlin Sunday School program as well as the Berlin Free Town Library. Frances was an avid reader. She loved her rose garden, bird watching and collected owl figurines. Frances is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Koerner-Rabatoy and her husband Joseph Rabatoy of Berlin; her son; Jerrold F. Koerner and his wife Joni of Ketchikan, Alaska; a grandson, Jay A. Koerner; a great granddaughter, Caroline Koerner; her brother, William Gutermuth and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Holden and Allen Gutermuth. Family and friends are invited and may call at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown on Sunday, October 27th from 7 to 9 PM. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Berlin, 15 North Main Street at 1:00 PM. Following the church service, interment will be in the Berlin Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frances may be made to the Berlin Free Town Library, PO Box 466, Berlin, NY 12022 or the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 269, Berlin, NY 12022.
