Joseph Young Obituary

Joseph A Young II Boyntonville- Joseph A Young II, 60, a lifelong resident of Boyntonville, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital after being stricken at his home, following a long illness. Born in Troy, January 18, 1952, Joe was the son of the late, Willard and Marion (Agan) Young and the husband of Lois (Geene) Young of Eagle Bridge who survives. Mr. Young was a graduate of Tamarac High School. A veteran of the United States Army and the Vietnam conflict, Joe earned the rank of Specialist 4th class and was a marksman in several types of firearms and an expert in triggering and explosive devices. He was honorably discharged September 1974. For over 20 years he was employed as a mechanic at the former Gardenway Manufacturing Company in Troy. He retired in the mid 1990's. Joe was a former member of the Pittstown Volunteer Fire Company and Pittstown Volunteer Rescue Squad, and enjoyed the hobbies of working on small motors and hunting. His survivors include a sister, Jane (Bill) Persons, sisters and brothers-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy. Memorial contributions if desired may be made to the Disabled American Veteran's Programs or to the Pittstown Volunteer Fire Company, in memory of Joseph A. Young II. Funeral service details are under the direction of the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY-7, Troy, NY 12180.
