Edna M. Kelly Sanvidge BONITA SPRINGS, FL - Edna M. Kelly Sanvidge, 87, of the Worthington Community in Bonita Springs and former Lansingburgh resident entered into eternal life surrounded by her family on Feb. 21, 2015. She was born in Faughart, Ireland in Dungooley House on July 14, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Peter G. and Mary E. Hughes Kelly. Edna was educated in Meigh School in Northern Ireland and came to the United States at the age of ten. She married the love of her life, John J. “Bud” Sanvidge on Sept. 9, 1950 and they were married for 56 years until his passing on March 24, 2006. Following their marriage, Edna and Jack opened the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home in Lansingburgh. She was very active in the operation of their business while at the same time raising their 7 children. She along with her family vacationed at their home in Woodford, VT. She was a devoted member of St. Augustine’s parish and school. She was a past president of the Mother’s Club at St. Augustine’s School, a member of the Altar Society for many years and enjoyed serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a Past President of the LaSalle Institute Parents Club. She had been a member of the Country Club of Troy. While residing in Florida, Edna was a faithful communicant of St. John’s Church in Naples. In her retirement years, she learned the games of golf and Mahjong and enjoyed playing them both. A friend to many, Edna always saw the positives in one’s life. She is the devoted mother of Denise M. (Jack) Hennessy of S. Africa, John J. (Kathleen) Sanvidge, Jr. of Speigletown, Kevin M. (Marilyn) Sanvidge of Fredonia, Kelly T. Sanvidge of Chestertown, Brian P. (Christina) Sanvidge of Brunswick, David W. Sanvidge of Ft. Myers, FL and the late Maureen R. Rabe. Cherished grandmother of Jay and Sean Hennessy, Shannon, John and Matthew Sanvidge, Kathleen Eoannou, Casey DeMarco and Brittany Sanvidge, Erik Rabe, Jr., Kelly Sanvidge, Jr., Meaghan Campbell, Erin Napoleone, Madeline, Natalie and Aisling Sanvidge, Emma and Nicholas Sanvidge, David Sanvidge, Jr. and Peter Sanvidge; also survived by her nephew William J. Sanvidge and several great grandchildren, several grand nieces, grand nephews and cousins. Funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 am from St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 3-7 pm Wednesday in the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of 115th. Street & 4th. Ave. in Lansingburgh. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
