AVERILL PARK - Harry F. Gardner, 63, of Kodiak Drive died suddenly Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Samaritan Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born in Chicago, Ill., he was son of the late Emery Gardner and Berniece Parsons Gardner and husband for 42 years of Carolyn Wegner Gardner.
He was raised in Illinois and resided the past 26 years in Averill Park and attended Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Ill.
Mr. Gardner was employed a consultant for MRB Communications in Schenectady for the past 15 years.
He enjoyed bowling and playing poker with his friends and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, stationed in Thailand.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Bradley (Basia) Gardner of Clifton Park, Melissa (Michael, Jr.) Sousa of West Sand Lake and Brian (Bridget) Gardner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Sandy (Phil) Torrance of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Robert (Melody) Gardner of Colorado; five grandchildren, Lauren, Benjamin, Emily, Brandon and Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 4392 Route 150, West Sand Lake.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
