Mark Hausmann Obituary

Mark D. Hausmann, Esq. BRUNSWICK - Mark D. Hausmann, Esq. of Maplehurst Dr., entered into eternal life suddenly on Thursday, June 6, 2013 after taking ill at home. Born in Troy on June 28, 1949, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Mildred E. Gorman Hausmann. Mr. Hausmann was a graduate of LaSalle Institute, Class of 1967. He earned his bachelor degree from Manhattan College and his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Pace University Law School, White Plains. Mr. Hausman served many municipalities in his capacity practicing law and was Principal of Labor Cost Management of Troy. He was committed to his family, a generous and loyal son, brother, uncle and great uncle, and the loving caretaker of Kerry, his parents' cocker spaniel. He was an avid New York Yankees fan. Mr. Hausmann was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Sycaway. Devoted brother of Dr. Dana Abbott of Albany and Tracy J. (Carol) Hausmann of Orlando, FL, cherished uncle of Ned Abbott, Daniel Abbott, Abigail Jones (Clinton Woodward), Emily Quezada (Kelvin) and Patrick Hausmann (Emily), adored great uncle of Tristen Abbott, Aidan Jones, Amina Hausmann and Makaylah, Aaden and Payton Woodward. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 451 Marshland Ct. (Corner of Marshland Court and North Lake Avenue) in Troy. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Our Lady of Victory Church on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Entombment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Troy. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or the American Cancer Society 6725 Lyons Street Po Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182 (518) 235-0952.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me".
