Thomas H. Brown Jr. TROY - Thomas H. Brown, Jr, took his final journey to join his parents and his brother, Dean Peter Brown, on May 15, 2013. Born in Troy, June 10, 1932, he was the son of the late Hon. Thomas H. and Viola M. Smith Brown. Tom was a lifelong resident of Troy, except for the nine years when he served in the Navy, during the Korean War and five years as a civilian specialist at the Norfolk,Va. Naval Base. He was the company honor man from basic training and a true patriot, who loved serving his country. Tom was a graduate of LaSalle Institute, Class of 1950 and attended Champlain College. He worked in the New York State Senate for forty-two years and retired as the Senate Journal Clerk. During his tenure, Tom worked for five governors and six Lt. Governors. He was a marvelous host, who loved to gather and feed people. He will always be loved and truly missed. He devoted his life to his family, friends and professions and was noted for his care of his late brother, Dean Peter Brown. Tom is survived by his brother, Gerald E ( Mary Lee ) Brown, special nieces Mary Beth Brown (David Manhire), Mary Anne(Patrick) O'Malley, Mary Lynne(Jonathan) Lee and Mary Kristin(Kamran) Avini, cherished grandniece, Mary Kate O'Malley, grandnephew Justin Karl Lee and his best friend Arthur Meachem. The family would like to thank St. Mary's Hospital and Rev Randall Patterson for their care and courtesies during this time. Funeral services on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 1:00 PM, at Our Lady of Victory Church, where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 pm, at the Doran Funeral Home, 9 So.Lake Ave.,Troy.
