William R. Hayden WATERFORD - William R. Hayden, 80, of Grace St. died Wednesday April 24, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born and educated in Troy he was the son of the late Robert and Mildred Russell Hayden. Bill was retired from National Transportation Co. in Troy where he was employed for 18 years. He had also been employed at Bendix Corp in Green Island and Ann Lee Nursing Home in Colonie. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He is the husband of Minnie Allen Hayden and father of Robert “Butch” Hayden (Diane) of Troy, Debra J. Beaudette (Mark) of Cohoes, Betty M. Napoli (David) of Waterford, Carol A. Noble (Ronald) of Pittstown, Kelly A Hayden (Steven) of Waterford, Patricia A. Gillespie of Cohoes and the late Colleen Mallon. He was the brother of Mary McKeever of Colorado, Donald Hayden of Troy, Robert and Cecile Hayden of Florida, the late Edward and David Hayden, Ruthie Smith and Mildred (Sis) Grose. 17 Grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
