Archie A. Wagar POESTENKILL - Archie A. Wagar 89, of Fifty Six Road, Petersburg, died on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital after a long illness. Born in Brandon, VT. Archie was the son of the late Frank and Mabel Hall Wagar and husband for 67 years to R. Martha Denue Wagar. Archie was an Army Veteran of WW II. Archie worked as a machinist at the Waterviliet Arsenal and then at the Kesselring Atomic Lab in West Milton prior to his retirement. Archie had resided in Poestenkill for 57 years and was a member of the Union Gospel Church where he had served as head trustee. He was a former member of the Tamarac Twirlers and the Sullivan-Jones VFW Post in Poestenkill. For many years Archie and Martha wintered in Naples FL and Archie enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, gardening and boating. Archie was predeceased by 2 sisters and 6 brothers. Survivors in addition to his wife include his devoted daughters Shirley Ann Wagar, Sonya Marie Thomas and Barbara Rose Wagar all of Poestenkill, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Saturday 10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the Chapel on Friday 4-7p.m. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Poestenkill. If desired donations in memory of Archie A.
