Obituary Condolences

Arthur D. Herald Troy - Arthur D. Herald, 89 of Troy, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012. Born in Troy, May 31, 1923, he was the son of the late Arthur Herald and Rhoda Greene. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He served in the New York State Coast Guard for several years. Art was an avid chef and worked in various local restaurants. He was a lifetime member of the Troy Boat and Canoe Club in addition to the American Legion. He enjoyed playing pool with his friends at Don and Paul's in Waterford. Art loved his family and was a good friend to many. He was predeceased by six siblings. Art is survived by his daughter Lori Robinson (Wayne) of Ballston Spa, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In particular, his niece Vivian Schabhetl showed great benevolence to her Uncle Art. A special thank you also to John Husson and his family who bestowed sincere friendship and kindness to Art over the years. A graveside service with military honors will be held 1pm Monday, June 18, 2012 at Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Town of Saratoga.
